RitmÅbo, a new performance concept based on improvisation and moment, brings together interesting dancers and musicians to premiere an improvisational evening in Turku. Each performance creates a faschinating and unique moments created by the artists involved in the show. Later on it is possible to gather the shows also in other locations.



The performers of the first RitmÅbo evening included Max Pollak (New York/Austria), a rhythm tap dancer specialiced in body percussion and Afro-Cuban dance and music, tap dancer Jussi Lindroos (Åbo), saxophonist Manuel Dunkel and pianist Sid Hille.

Max Pollak, one of the most interesting names in the rhythm tap scene today, fuses Afro-Cuban folklore with Afro-American rhythm tap and body percussion. Pollak has been seen in many collaborations among other Heather Cornell's renowned Manhattan Tap working with Ray Brown, Cool Heat - Urban Beat, TrioNada and Paul Carlon Octet. Rumba Tap, his own group, has performed among other at the Jacob's Pillow dance festival in USA. In Finland Pollak has visited as a guest artist at the international Feet Beat Tap Festival and at the Kuopio Dance Festival.

Manuel Dunkel and Sid Hille are know as one of the leading characters in Finnish jazz scene. Among other projects they play together in Platypus Ensemble directed by Sid Hille. Jussi Lindroos, a tap dancer from Turku, has performed successfully both in Finland and abroad. His recent projects include Metropolitan Moods, a collaboration with Jussi Fredrisksson Trio.
